71st annual meeting of the British Society for Oral and Dental Research An exciting program is lined up which includes invited keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, symposia, special interest scientific group meetings, an early career researcher breakfast, an undergraduate student forum, scientific prize competitions and a trade exhibition.
There will also be a conference dinner at St James' Park, home of Newcastle United, on the evening of Tuesday 3rd September (tickets available upon registration).
In addition, we will have a a speakeasy style event open to conference delegates and members of the public on the evening of Wednesday 4th September, 6pm - 8pm. The speakeasy will consist of an expert panel discussing the affordability of dentistry in the UK (tickets are free, but places are limited, and will therefore be allocated on a first come first serve basis).
Panel will be Chaired by Professor Chris Vernazza, Head of Dental School, Newcastle University, with our expert panelists listed below: • Prof Rebecca Harris, Professor of Dental Public Health Liverpool University and ex-Deputy Chief Dental Officer for England • Dr Shiv Pabary, MBE, a local general dentist, Honorary Clinical Lecturer and member of the General Dental Practice Committee, British Dental Association. • David Gallagher, Executive Director of the Integrated Care Board. • Matthew Harper, recently graduated dentist. •Paul Jones, CEO of Healthwatch North Tyneside
