6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit

- • Health Sciences• Dermatology• Oral Medicine and Radiology

We are delighted to invite you the “6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit: The Translational Revolution”, a unique and dynamic symposium, being held in The New York Academy of Medicine, New York, USA, on November 12-15, 2025.

Over the last few decades, biomedical research has unravelled a plethora of pathophysiological steps putatively important for human disease development. But it was only in the last few years that a broader translation from basic research efforts to clinical medicine has indeed occurred. This was largely made possible by the close cooperation of basic researchers and clinical investigators, aiming at the development of truly effective therapeutics. Inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata and vitiligo serve as an example of this successful bench-to-bedside approach. Currently, more and more therapies are approved as a result of this scientific approach, and many more are on their way.

Nevertheless, a stand-alone meeting in which inflammatory skin diseases and the translational revolution that we are currently experiencing take center stage has been lacking. After five very successful meetings in Vienna and in New York City in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023 we have again taken upon the task of organizing such an important in-person meeting, in order to continue this path of therapeutic revolution and extend to other inflammatory skin diseases. We want to discuss new concepts and new developments in the field of inflammatory skin diseases and to devise and explore new therapeutic strategies. For the last meetings, we had been able to attract true leaders in their fields, with more than 600 participants from all over the world. We have now established this conference on every two-year basis, with the next meeting taking place in New York in 2025.

Below are a few reasons why you should participate at this upcoming Summit:

Learn about the latest developments for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. The exhibit hall will serve as a forum to lean about individual therapeutic compounds, and to critically discuss their value (efficacy, safety) to key representatives of the scientific community. Interact & network with peers

We look forward to your participation at the 6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit in New York.

30th IAPD Congress

- • Health Sciences• Pedodontics

On behalf of the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry (IAPD) and the South African Association of Paediatric Dentistry (SAAPD), we take great pleasure in inviting you to join us for the 30th IAPD Congress - taking place for the first time on the African continent - from 22-25 October 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.

We're immensely excited to host you in our beautiful country, as we explore new frontiers in Paediatric Dentistry under the theme "Refresh - Refocus - Renew"

Refresh - Refocus - Renew Paediatric Dentistry as part of holistic, patient-centred health care.

The golden thread through this congress theme and slogan is how we as paediatric dentists should refresh, refocus and renew our approach to providing patient-centred, holistic oral health care. This theme also links to focused research in Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL) which is a multi-dimensional construct that includes a subjective evaluation of the individual's oral health, functional well-being, emotional well-being, expectations and satisfaction with care and sense of self.

Especially in children, impaired oral health and function can affect growth and development- not only physical but also emotional, social and psychological. Decisions made and treatment done on a child can have life-long consequences.

It is, therefore, our duty to step up to the challenges of paediatric dentistry, to consult and collaborate with each other, different specialists and medical professionals to make sure we care for the 'whole child' and not only the child's teeth. The 3-day scientific program will be comprehensive, catering for all special interests pertaining to paediatric dentistry:

Day 1, focusing on Diagnosis & Behaviour Management will Refresh your knowledge on the aetiology and diagnosis of disease and pathology, Refocus you on the well-being of your patient and yourself through behaviour management techniques, and Renew your approach to providing inter- or multidisciplinary oral health care.

Day 2, with a special focus on Holistic Oral Health care, will Refresh your understanding of caries, Refocus your care plans on holistic health care and Renew your approach to patient-specific oral rehabilitation with the newest technology and advances.

Day 3 will Refresh your knowledge of modern dentistry and available technology, Refocus on tooth preservation and Renew your approach to providing care as a paediatric dentist.

Paediatric dentistry requires a balance of knowledge, skills, patience and personality! The social program will create opportunities for interaction, relaxation, collaboration and just some plain African fun under the African sun!

The ultimate goal is for each attendee to leave feeling "refreshed, refocused and renewed" in order to support each other, across local and International borders, in making paediatric dentistry a cornerstone of providing holistic healthcare to our children.

We can't wait to see you in Cape Town!

Contemporary Drug Problems Conference

- • Health Sciences

We imagine, study, live and make drugs through boundaries. Drugs move transnationally, as do the people who cultivate, consume and sell them. Drugs travel across borders of ‘producing’ and ‘consuming’ countries. Drugs move between bodies, permeating boundaries of interiority and exteriority, skin, blood and brain. Laws categorise drugs through binaries: as licit or illicit, medicinal or non-medicinal, intoxicating or therapeutically transformative. Drugs are made through distinctions between human and ‘non-human’ worlds, and anxieties about and practices concerning drug use are constituted through binaries of control and compulsion. In cultural contexts that celebrate control, rationality, authenticity, and order, people who use drugs and those who are understood be experiencing ‘addiction’ become devalued, because they are constituted as compulsive, irrational, duplicitous and chaotic.

Asthose working withtools such as feminist theory, narcofeminism, queer theory, Science and Technology Studies, new materialism, Indigenous knowledges and decolonising methodologies have shown, it is important to identify and probe these boundaries, borders, binaries and barriers. What do these boundaries mean, do and make possible? Are they barriers to understanding and progress in relation to drug law reform? How might we think and do drugs otherwise if we work todissolve borders between people and drugs, human and non-human, licit and illicit, subject and object, blood and brain? What becomes possible when we disrupt disciplinary boundaries, including through explorations of disciplinary siloing? What do we learn when drugs are the subject of new and interdisciplinary perspectives, or approaches including ancient or ancestral knowledges? How can thought and practice engage centrally with boundaries, borders, binaries and barriers of various kinds, including between drugs, bodies, subjects and objects, the reshaping, reinforcing and dismantling of state borders, and the binaries that shape drugs? Is there value in maintaining boundaries, borders, binaries and barriers?

Building on CDP’s previous conferences, which have opened up questions of how drugs are problematised; how the complexity of drug use can be attended to; how drug use might be understood as event, assemblage or phenomenon; how drugs and their effects are constituted in various forms of practice and interactions/intra-actions; how we might rethink change; and the need to embrace ‘trouble’ in our work, the 2025 conference seeks submissions for presentations thatconsider the many boundaries, borders, binaries and barriers that structure how we do drugs, including work that challenges, dissolves, dismantles, questions, pushes, problematises, decolonises, disrupts, transgresses, reconsiders or restructures them.

We welcome research from those working in anthropology, cultural studies, law, criminology, social epidemiology, history, human geography, public policy, gender studies, sociology, social work and related disciplines, and encourage the innovative use of methods, concepts and theoretical tools. Possible topics include but are not limited to:

As you navigate through this city, you will find that every corner has a story to tell, much like the diverse topics we will explore throughout the Congress.

FEBS Congresses are a collaboration between a member Society of FEBS – in this case the Turkish Biochemical Society – and FEBS, with input into the scientific programme development from FEBS Press editors-in-chief, FEBS Executive Committee members, and representatives of other FEBS Societies to help create an exciting, cutting-edge and wide-ranging speaker line-up. At the 2025 Congress, expect outstanding plenary speakers, symposia on important current molecular life science topics, and special sessions too for extra interest on wider subjects such as education.

We warmly invite junior researchers and seasoned scientists to the event from across the globe.

To our junior researchers, your fresh perspectives infuse our discussions with vitality. To you, we say: ‘Be bold – question assumptions, challenge the status quo. Let curiosity be your compass as you explore our sessions and engage with fellow scholars.’ We bring to your attention the opportunities that will be offered by the preceding FEBS Young Scientists’ Forum, and support for participation in the Congress from FEBS bursaries.

To our seasoned scientists, your wisdom forms the aged oak that supports our scientific canopy. Your experiences are invaluable treasures which have opened new avenues of understanding. To you, we say: ‘Let’s gather under the shadow of the Galata Tower, where echoes of ancient alchemists inspire new collaborations. Let's make FEBS 2025 a truly transformative event, one that will leave a lasting impact on our field and our lives.’

Reflecting on words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Türkiye – "Science is the most reliable guide in life" – let this Congress be a beacon for scientific exploration and discovery!

SAIL 2025

-

The Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Learning Health Systems (SAIL) is an annual international conference launched in 2020 to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques into clinical medicine.

An explicit goal of this conference is to foster collaboration between methodologists and key healthcare decision makers such as clinicians, hospital administrators, regulators and payors. SAIL will feature leading voices from each of these backgrounds to shed light on opportunities for and obstacles to the deployment of clinical AI systems.

A second key goal of SAIL is to better integrate the complementary experience of the clinical informatics and machine learning communities. Clinical informaticians, for their part, have an extensive history of integrating their tools within hospital IT systems and working with administrators, privacy policies, and quality improvement officers. Computer scientists, for their part, have frequently spearheaded the development of novel methodological tools and high-performance computing. SAIL is designed to bring together the best of each of these closely related but often disconnected communities.

SAIL will feature invited presentations to expose AI practitioners to the clinical workflow and administrative challenges that commonly prevent real-world adoption. Panels will convene seasoned leaders who have overseen the implementation, adoption, and regulation of real clinical AI systems in practice. Tutorials will provide hands-on exposure to open-source tools for integrating apps with hospital IT systems. Finally, we solicit abstracts for podium or poster presentations designed to generate fruitful discussion (and debate!) among conference attendees from diverse backgrounds (clinicians, clinical informaticians, computer scientists, payers, and regulators).

UKAIS 2025

UKAIS2025: Shaping the Future of Academia: The Impact of AI on Teaching, Research, and Scholarship Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be viewed as technologies augmented by human intelligence, performing tasks akin to the human mind. This can range from algorithm-based data interpretation for specific tasks to broader concepts that mimic human intelligence. AI’s growth is driven by improved machine learning using online data, enhanced computing power, and advances in deep learning. Its transformative potential spans across sectors, due to AI’s capability in complex environments and repetitive tasks. With the introduction of AI technologies that are widely available, there is potential for significant change in how work is carried out. This raises important research questions about AI’s role in either augmenting or even replacing human efforts.

Those working in the higher education sector are not an exception but are also facing the impact of AI. Academics need to adapt to internal and external demands. For instance, internally complementing teaching with new AI-generated content and dealing with assessment challenges calls for reconsidering how to innovate in education and learning practices. Similarly, academics are also facing challenges of incorporating AI into their research and student-supervisory roles in a manner that augments their productivity and capabilities, without compromising the integrity and depth of scholarly research.

Externally, there is a growing need to translate academic research and insights into actionable strategies that can be employed in commercial and societal contexts. Such imperatives not only require academics and university leaders to stay abreast of the latest developments in AI, but also to develop a deeper understanding of the ethical, economic, social, and organisational implications. The ability to manage such internal and external demands effectively is crucial, if AI is to become a tool for enhancement, rather than a source of contention.

To this end, submissions are encouraged to critically examine the role of academics in this transition, challenging the assumption that the academic community is fully prepared to embrace AI at the necessary pace. We invite submissions for UKAIS2025 that explore a range of topics related to the integration, impact, and ethical considerations of AI in higher education.

Suggested areas for research include, but are not limited to (we also encourage submission of papers related to artificial intelligence even if they are not related to Higher Education):

The Role of AI in augmenting academic teaching and learning: Investigate how AI-generated content and tools can complement traditional teaching methods (especially when it comes to IS courses), enhance student engagement, and address assessment challenges. AI’s impact on academic research and supervision: Examine the ways in which AI can augment researchers’ productivity and capabilities, without compromising the integrity of scholarly research. Translating academic insights into actionable strategies: Explore strategies for leveraging AI to translate research into practical applications in commercial and societal contexts. Ethical, Economic, Social, and Organisational Implications of AI: Delve into the ethical considerations surrounding the use of AI in higher education, including issues related to privacy, data security, and bias. We invite full papers (completed research) and developmental papers (research in progress). Please follow the conference formatting template provided on the UKAIS website .

UKAIS2025_TemplateDownload Full papers of 5000-7000 words should document established results and will be presented according to the highest academic standards. Allocation of a 20-minute presentation time, followed by a Q&A. Selected papers will be uploaded to the AIS eLibrary.

Developmental papers of 1500-2000 words should document research in progress and will be presented according to the highest academic standards. Allocation of a 20-minute presentation time, followed by a Q&A. UKAIS actively encourages submissions from early career researchers. The purpose of the developmental is to enable researchers to discuss their work whilst it is in an early stage, so comments and feedback obtained at the event can be incorporated in the final stages of research and writing up.

68th Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

- • Health Sciences• Plastic Surgery

The 68th Annual Meeting of Japan Society of Plastic Surgery (JSPRS) will be held on April 16-18 (Wed-Fri), 2025 at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all members of JSPRS and many others who have supported us in various ways. This is the third time that our department has been privileged to host this Congress, following on from the 33rd (by Professor Takeshi Hirayama) and the 47th (by Professor Motohiro Nozaki) Annual Meetings, and it is a great honor. I and all the staff of my department are united in our efforts to prepare to welcome all of you with open arms.

The founders of JSPRS had been originated from various other departments such as surgery, dermatology, orthopedics, otorhinolaryngology, so on. Since 1958, they have gathered together under the banner of “Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery”, a novel but blurred department, while achieving outstanding surgical outcomes in their respective fields. The growth of the JSPRS that we see today is the result of the wide range of techniques and technologies that our predecessors have developed and implemented into other field, always aspiring to launch plastic and reconstructive surgery free from conventional disciplinary boundaries. For this reason, we need to share a common vision for our future from our own perspective, rather than from those of other surgical departments that have specialized in specific organs.

In recent years, we have witnessed several increasingly alarming issues that could pose a threat to the future of the JSPRS. These include the work-style reform of doctors, shortage of supervising doctors under board-certification system, biased orientation toward aesthetic surgery from various other treatments, regional disparities. We need a forum in which JSPRS members can engage in earnest discussions regarding these issues. The theme of the 68th Annual Meeting is “Beyond the Horizon”. I took the liberty of choosing this theme in the hope that lively discussions will be held to open the way for JSPRS, with its proud history of over 60 years, to move on to a new stage as a mature medical department.

We will do our best to ensure that the meeting will be fruitful for many of the participants and our Society. Thank you for your continued support and look forward to your participation.

11th Asian Conference on Aging & Gerontology (AGen2025)

- • Health Sciences

The 11th Asian Conference on Aging & Gerontology (AGen2025) March 25-29, 2025 | Toshi Center Hotel, Tokyo, Japan, and Online

Recognising and promoting the inherent dignity of people at all ages represents a foundational goal shared by societies around the world. The desire to identify meaning and value in life underpins inquiries into law and politics, religion and the arts, and it guides the resolution of ethical questions associated with scientific inquiry and resulting innovations. As medical science, public health and technology continue to advance, so lives have grown progressively longer. Increasingly, this leads to new questions regarding the kind of lives we will experience as we grow older. While advances in science and medicine increase longevity, what innovative technologies are emerging that address the changing needs faced by an aging world? Researchers, scientists, and advocates will gather in Tokyo for AGen2025 to discuss these questions and others.

Japan represents a unique location for research professionals to meet and explore the topic of aging. Japan has one of the most rapidly aging populations, which combined with a declining birthrate, represents a compelling example of the demographic transition resulting from increased longevity. The issues and challenges faced in Japan have expanded to other Pacific nations, Europe, Africa, and the Americas as all nations experience the benefits of increased longevity. Worldwide, there is a growing recognition that the kind of life we now give our elders will impact the way we will be treated and cared for as we enter our later years. Because aging is a worldwide phenomenon, the needs and opportunities of an aging world must also reflect and respect cultural and social diversity in developing programs that encourage quality of life at all ages. How do we address the collective needs of the aging population while respecting each person’s individuality? AGen2025 provides an ideal forum for discussing and debating the many issues related to aging and gerontology. Submissions from a variety of fields and perspectives are welcomed and encouraged. Original research across disciplines, including science and technology, philosophy and politics, sociology, and psychology, will ensure an active and exciting opportunity to expand our gerontological understanding.

Now entering its 11th year, the AGen2025 Programme Committee has seen the conference grow in size and diversity of perspectives as it attracts researchers and practitioners from around the world to address this crucial topic. This year is particularly exciting as AGen will be partnering with The 15th Asian Conference on Psychology & the Behavioral Sciences (ACP2025), increasing opportunities for broad multidisciplinary exchanges.

Held in partnership with the IAFOR Research Centre at the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University, this international conference encourages academics and scholars to meet and exchange ideas and views in a forum stimulating respectful dialogue. This event will afford an exceptional opportunity for renewing old acquaintances, making new contacts, networking, and facilitating partnerships across national and disciplinary borders.

In conjunction with our Global Partners, we look forward to extending you a warm welcome to Tokyo in 2025

Welcome to The 15th Asian Conference on Psychology & Behavioral Sciences (ACP2025), held in partnership with the IAFOR Research Centre at the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University, Japan.

In 2025, ACP celebrates its 15th anniversary. It has proven to be a great opportunity for engaging in interdisciplinary dialogue, speaking to scholars, and learning from other experts from around the world and from a variety of academic disciplines. The interdisciplinary and international focus of the conference draws world-class speakers and keeps people coming back year after year.

Established scholars have commented that the format of the conference allows them to share insights with younger researchers, and to learn from the next generation. Many of the works presented at ACP have been on the cutting edge, demonstrating presenters’ deep mastery of complex topics and proposing important new ideas. ACP2025 will undoubtedly continue this tradition of being a great place to learn and to network. It gives attendees the chance to build an interdisciplinary and global perspective on the study of psychology and behavioral sciences.

For this year’s conference, the Programme Committee has opted to leave the theme more open than in past years. There will be a number of streams and special sessions within the fields of psychology and behavioral sciences, but presenters will not be limited by any one, specific theme. It is hoped that this open format will encourage a broad range of submissions on a variety of related topics and encourage discussions across disciplines. ACP2025 will be held concurrently with The 11th Asian Conference on Aging & Gerontology (AGen2025). Registration for either conference allows access to both.

Held in partnership with the IAFOR Research Centre at the Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP) at Osaka University, this international conference encourages academics and scholars to meet and exchange ideas and views in a forum stimulating respectful dialogue.
