WADEM cordially invites you to participate in the 24th edition of the Congress on Disaster and Emergency Medicine, an event that brings together global experts to share research and exchange knowledge in disaster medicine, prehospital care, and the health aspects of emergency management and complex humanitarian crises. The congress will take place at the Centre des Congrès de la Villette at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Paris, France, from 26 to 30 April 2027.

The theme for the congress is: Research, Relevance, Resilience: Enhancing performance in disaster and emergency medicine for communities, responders, and ecosystems.

WADEM last held its congress in France more than twenty years ago, in Lyon in 2001. The Paris Congress will build on the success of the Tokyo Congress by connecting the communities of fire, civil protection, academia, government, military, and others to advance preparation, prevention, response, and recovery.

The Centre des Congrès de la Villette will provide a dynamic and welcoming venue for congress delegates, the educational sessions, the exhibition space, and networking activities. In your free time, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Museum of Science, the Parc de la Villette, and of course, discover magnificent Paris – the City of Light, a name dating back to the reign of Louis XIV in 1665.

Champ's Sono Camp, hosted by the UVM Departments of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, is a Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Conference for generalists. This event is appropriate for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants in primary care, urgent care, pediatrics and emergency medicine.

Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) has become one of the biggest recent advances in clinical medicine. Referred to as the "modern stethoscope", data show that POCUS can improve diagnostic accuracy, procedural safety, and patient satisfaction. While numerous medical schools and residency programs have adopted POCUS into their curricula, few practicing clinicians have had the opportunity to learn this skill.

Conference mornings will be spent in didactics about core POCUS skills, and afternoons spent practicing hands-on skills with standardized patients and procedural models. Instructors are clinical experts in POCUS and faculty at the UVM Larner College of Medicine. This intensive, two-day course will be held in downtown Burlington, Vermont, overlooking Burlington Bay. The 17th Symposium on Emergency Medicine and Acute Cardiology – ‚Charité meets BeNeLux‘ – will address the changing role of emergency medicine in Europe. Having been recognized as a medical specialty in most European countries, emergency medicine is evolving beyond excluding serious diseases and directing patients to other specialties, towards mastering all acute health situations, initiating advanced medical therapies, and caring for complications arising from new medications, devices, and ambulatory interventions and surgery. Additionally, emergency departments care for all kinds of special health situations, including psychosocial emergencies and mental dysregulation. Emergency departments worldwide are facing increasing patient numbers, so evolving technologies, highly standardised processes and well-trained, specialised staff are required to deliver high-quality emergency care. Despite that physicians and nurses of EDs often feel like a team without name, working in challenging conditions under high pressure and at high risk of moral injury and burn-out. We will discuss these topics from an international European perspective with a faculty of high-ranking experts from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.

The Malaysia Trauma Conference 2026 (MTC 2026) is a premier international conference organized by the Malaysian Society for Care of Trauma (MASCOT). The conference brings together trauma surgeons, emergency physicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, and educators to discuss advancements in trauma care, emergency medicine, injury prevention, trauma systems, and strategies for improving equitable access to trauma care.
