Dear colleagues, dear members and supporters of the Czech Gastroenterology Society,
allow us to cordially invite you to participate in the most important congress of our company this year – the 18th educational and discussion days of gastroenterology in Karlovy Vary . It will take place on November 14-16, 2024, at the usual location - the Thermal Hotel in Karlovy Vary. The tradition of the Karlovy Vary Congress, closely linked to the history of the Czech Gastroenterology Society ČLS JEP, is very binding. Our goal is to organize a congress at a high professional and organizational level, firmly anchored in the history of events organized since the 80s of the last century, yet completely up-to-date, with a number of innovations respecting modern trends in the field.
The purpose of the educational and discussion days is to offer an up-to-date view of contemporary gastroenterology and hepatology and to create a pleasant and stimulating space for rich discussion and interdisciplinary interaction. The development of our field in recent years and the dynamism with which new findings are introduced into clinical practice are literally astounding. Endoscopic interventions inside and outside the alimentary canal, new treatment options for intestinal inflammation, a fundamental decrease in the incidence of colorectal cancer or the growing population threat in the form of pancreatic cancer - these are just some of the many topics that contemporary gastroenterology lives on. The ambition of the Karlovy Vary Congress is to contribute to the fact that we are able to orient ourselves correctly in the flood of new information, to use it rationally and to further cultivate gastroenterology and hepatology in the Czech Republic in the best sense of the word.
To achieve this goal, this year we decided to cooperate with the company Solen, s.r.o., a renowned organizer of medical congresses and symposia. We believe that this is the right choice and that this cooperation will bring the best results.
A great benefit of live congresses is the possibility of personal meetings and discussions not only about our work, but about everything that life brings. How important live contact is was shown at the moment when we suddenly lost this possibility during the covid pandemic. We firmly believe that this year's Karlovy Vary Congress will be successful and specific not only thanks to the unmistakable "genius loci", but also to its traditionally pleasant atmosphere.
