The 15th National Conference on Health Profession Education (NCHPE)- 2024 is being organised by Era University in Lucknow. India has adopted the competency based medical education by introducing many positive features such as integrated learning, early clinical exposure, self-directed learning, student doctor concept, family adoption etc., as per the emerging trends of 21st century health professional education. This is just the beginning and we have a long way to go. Both education and practice are centred on patients, and any health-related conference will be incomplete without addressing patient safety. According to World Health Organization (WHO), “Patient safety is fundamental to delivering quality essential health services. In addition, to realize the benefits of quality health care, health services must be timely, equitable, integrated and efficient.” We feel that in order to enhance patient safety, the health professions education and health care systems of the country need to be linked. Hence the conference theme is:
“Enhancing Patient Safety: Linking HPE with Healthcare”
NCHPE -2024 will bring together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, including educators, practitioners, researchers, and policymakers to foster interdisciplinary dialogue, collaborations and innovations. Academic sessions have been planned to equip healthcare professionals to optimize patient safety by strengthening the educational practices within their educational institution and clinical practice. Under the aegis of the Academy of Health Profession Educators (AHPE) and Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER), we cordially invite you to participate in NCHPE -2024 at the Era University, Lucknow and share your experiences, insights and best practices
