The threat to the UK from vector-borne diseases is rising at astonishing pace. Mosquito and tick species have invaded; Usutu virus is present; Lyme disease remains prevalent; Tick-borne encephalitis is established; West Nile, Dengue and Bluetongue viruses are on our doorstep.
We are pleased to announce the sixth UK VBD Conference will be held in 2024, following a series of successful meetings that started in 2021 focusing on threats to the UK from vector-borne diseases of people, animals and plants. The meeting brings together members of major UK academic research groups, government agencies, funders and other stakeholders who share an interest in vectors or vector-borne diseases, and provides an unrivalled opportunity to meet experts, network and build collaboration.
The two-day conference will be held in The Spine, Liverpool on 3rd and 4th December 2024. Registration fee will cover lunch and refreshments during the meeting. There will also be a conference dinner held on 3rd December 2024.
