It is with immense pleasure and pride that we welcome you to ESICON 2025, the 54th Annual Conference of the Endocrine Society of India, scheduled to be held from 4th to 7th September 2025 in the city of Kolkata.
Kolkata- the City of Joy - is a vibrant blend of tradition and modernity. Once the capital of British India, the city has long been a hub of literature, art, theatre, leisurely freestyle and often intellectual discourse(“adda”) and of course, football. The poetry of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore,the philosophy and social reform of Swami Vivekananda ,the nationalist zeal of Subhas Chandra Bose ,the scientific pedagogy of Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose,the artistry of auteur and Oscar awardee Satyajit Ray and the nifty footwork of footballer Shailen Manna lives on in the streets, cuisine, institutions and neighbourhoods (“paras”) of Kolkata. From the majestic Victoria Memorial and the Howrah Bridge to the serene precincts of Dakshineswar temple on the banks of the Hooghly River onto the modern cityscapes of New Town and the Biswa Bangla Gate, Kolkata is a city that embraces its past while surging towards the future. The welcoming multiculturalism of Kolkata is perhaps best appreciated during the annual festival of Durga Puja,now included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Lists, that will follow the conference.
Endocrinology, as a rapidly evolving specialty, sits at the confluence of clinical insight and cutting-edge research. The recent advances in molecular endocrinology, diabetes care, obesity, bone health, and reproductive endocrinology have redefined our approach to patient care. India, and particularly academic centers across the country, have contributed significantly to global endocrine research—ranging from the epidemiology of metabolic disorders to novel insights into thyroid and adrenal pathophysiology.
ESICON 2025 promises to be a confluence of ideas, innovation and interaction, bringing together leading experts, researchers and clinicians interested in Endocrinology. As we gather in Kolkata, we look forward to fruitful scientific exchanges, forging new collaborations and exploring the city’s timeless charm.
