EventsHealth SciencesDermatology2nd International Conference on Tropical Medicine (ICTD 2026)

We are pleased to invite you to attend the second International Conference on Tropical Medicine(ICTD), which will be held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo from 11th to 13th of March 2026. This esteemed event is co-organized by the Sri Lanka College of Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine (SLCDA) in collaboration with the Deutsche Dermatologische Gesellschaft / German Dermatological Society (DDG).

Nearly 40% of the world's population resides in tropical countries, and the prevalence of skin diseases in these regions is rising at an alarming rate. Tropical skin diseases are unique, and challenging to treat. Furthermore, these diseases are no longer limited to tropical regions. Due to increased travel and migration, dermatologists outside the tropics are encountering patients with tropical skin diseases with increasing frequency. Therefore, a sound knowledge of tropical dermatology is an asset to any dermatologist.

The second International Conference on Tropical Dermatology (ICTD) promises to be an enriching experience, featuring distinguished clinicians and researchers who will share their insights through lectures on various topics. The conference will provide an in-depth discussion of tropical infections such as leprosy, leishmaniasis, and dermatophytosis. Moreover, tropical dermatology extends beyond infections. The program will also cover interesting topics such as pigmentory disorders, environmental dermatology, and cultural dermatology. Additionally, a special pre-congress session will focus on Aesthetics in Skin of Colour, addressing critical issues related to aesthetic treatments for patients with skin of colour.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful island that offers delegates ample opportunity to create lasting memories of a tropical paradise. From tranquil hills and sandy beaches to thrilling wildlife safaris and awe-inspiring monuments, Sri Lanka has something for everyone within just a few kilometres. Following the academic sessions, we have arranged two optional tour packages for delegates, allowing you to experience either the historical town of Kandy or the breath-taking village of Ella, located within the island's hill country.

Additionally, we are thrilled to invite you to the highlight of our tropical dermatology program on the 14th of March, at the National Hospital of Colombo, Sri Lanka. This clinical meeting will feature a variety of patients with tropical skin diseases, providing a unique opportunity to examine and discuss cases in small teams alongside esteemed Sri Lankan dermatologists.

The second International Conference on Tropical Dermatology (ICTD) represents a fantastic opportunity for the global dermatology community to enhance their knowledge, build connections, and initiate collaborative research while experiencing the warm hospitality of Sri Lanka.

Join us in Colombo for the 2nd ICTD in March 2026! We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event.

We are delighted to invite you the “6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit: The Translational Revolution”, a unique and dynamic symposium, being held in The New York Academy of Medicine, New York, USA, on November 12-15, 2025.

Over the last few decades, biomedical research has unravelled a plethora of pathophysiological steps putatively important for human disease development. But it was only in the last few years that a broader translation from basic research efforts to clinical medicine has indeed occurred. This was largely made possible by the close cooperation of basic researchers and clinical investigators, aiming at the development of truly effective therapeutics. Inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata and vitiligo serve as an example of this successful bench-to-bedside approach. Currently, more and more therapies are approved as a result of this scientific approach, and many more are on their way.

Nevertheless, a stand-alone meeting in which inflammatory skin diseases and the translational revolution that we are currently experiencing take center stage has been lacking. After five very successful meetings in Vienna and in New York City in 2014, 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023 we have again taken upon the task of organizing such an important in-person meeting, in order to continue this path of therapeutic revolution and extend to other inflammatory skin diseases. We want to discuss new concepts and new developments in the field of inflammatory skin diseases and to devise and explore new therapeutic strategies. For the last meetings, we had been able to attract true leaders in their fields, with more than 600 participants from all over the world. We have now established this conference on every two-year basis, with the next meeting taking place in New York in 2025.

Below are a few reasons why you should participate at this upcoming Summit:

Learn about the latest developments for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. The exhibit hall will serve as a forum to lean about individual therapeutic compounds, and to critically discuss their value (efficacy, safety) to key representatives of the scientific community. Interact & network with peers

We look forward to your participation at the 6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit in New York.

It is with great delight that we welcome you to the 15th Rajka Symposium for Atopic Dermatitis in Melbourne, Australia, the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation: 24-26 October 2025, the centenary year of Professor Georg RAJKA’s birth.

Dreaming for the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People recounts the creation of life and renewal, mirroring the stories of ISAD and of the evolving landscape of atopic dermatitis research and treatment. This meeting gives occasion to recall these histories, to reflect on current challenges still faced at environmental, social, personal, and molecular levels, and to reconsider strategic future directions for eczema research and care. Our symposium theme is therefore History, Memory, and Retelling. We will also highlight evolving understandings of risk determinants for AD and immunological pathways affecting AD development and persistence. The symposium will be valuable for all clinicians, researchers, residents, and students who wish to be current in atopic dermatitis research and management.

We are privileged to have Professor Peter DOHERTY among our list of distinguished speakers. Together with Prof. Rolf ZINKERNAGEL, he was awarded the 1996 Nobel Prize in medicine for ground-breaking work on T cells.

Melbourne, located in south-east Australia, was recently voted the world’s most liveable city for 8 consecutive years. A cosmopolitan and multicultural city, it has become known for its coherent and unassuming fusion of European, Asian, and many other influences. Our conference venue will be the Grand Hyatt, located in central Melbourne within an easy walk of the sporting, shopping, and entertainment districts. We look forward to welcoming you to the great Southern Land, to a unique event for information exchange, learning, and both the creation and renewal of friendships for all those dedicated to improving the lives of those with atopic dermatitis.

104th Annual Meeting of the British Associati...

It is a great pleasure for me to Chair the Organising Committee of the 105th Annual Meeting of the British Association of Dermatologists.

We are delighted to be returning to Glasgow, 3 years after our last 2022 meeting. The SEC Glasgow venue offers the space, facilities and central location to ensure we can deliver another successful annual meeting. Due to the increasing size of our meeting and particularly the exhibition we will be using a larger exhibition hall and incorporating the ‘silent’ seminar rooms introduced in Manchester in 2024.

I would like to thank Dr Chris Bower and the organising committee for a superb Manchester meeting in 2024. Please remember that registration for the 104th Annual Meeting and the virtual content is still available until the end of 2024.

The BAD Officers and the BAD Conference & Events committee have taken on board the positive feedback from the recent BAD Annual Meetings and would like to offer all physical attendees the opportunity to access all the conference content, after the meeting. There will also be a virtual registration option (to view post-live content after the in-person meeting) for those attendees unable to join us live in Glasgow. We do of course hope that as many of you as possible can attend in person in July 2025 and we look forward to seeing you all.

Abstract submission will open in October and the key deadlines are. January 10th (main meeting), February 7th (Special Interest Groups) and 26th May (Late Breakers).

Registration will open in February 2025 and sign up early to take advantage of early-bird rates. We hope delegates will join us for the BADfest networking social event on Tuesday 1st July, 2025 theme to be announced soon!

Please check this website to keep up to date with the keynote lecturer announcements, programme details and sponsoring companies. We hope that you will all enjoy the excellent programme we have planned and benefit from this hybrid approach as our Annual Meeting evolves for our ever-changing times.

Further details will be announced on this website and in regular bulletins in due course. Along with the whole BAD team, I look forward to offering a warm in-person welcome to all UK and International delegates.
