IUIS Veterinary Immunology Committee Webinar: Zebrafish as a high-throughput screening model with strong translational relevance to mammalian immunology.
Zebrafish are increasingly recognized for their ability to support high-throughput studies of immune function. This session will highlight how they enable real-time observation of innate immune responses- including macrophage and neutrophil activity-within a whole organism. It will also examine how controlled microbial environments are leveraged to investigate immune development, inflammation, and immune–microbiome interactions.
With strong conservation of key immune pathways between zebrafish and mammals, this model provides valuable insights into immune regulation and offers significant potential for translational research relevant to human biology.
