The 55th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Immunology (JSI) will be held from November 17–19, 2026, at the Osaka International Convention Center in Osaka, Japan.
Immunology in Japan has evolved from early phenomenological studies of immune responses to a deeply mechanistic discipline. Landmark advances such as the cloning of cytokine genes in the 1980s and the development of gene-targeted mice in the 1990s transformed the field by enabling molecular and organismal analyses of immune function. Today, cutting-edge technologies—including next-generation sequencing and advanced analytical platforms—allow researchers to obtain highly precise data from minimal biological samples. In this rapidly advancing landscape, closer integration of immunology with clinical and informatic sciences has become essential for deepening our understanding of the human immune system and accelerating progress toward the treatment of immune-related diseases.
Reflecting this vision, the Annual Meeting will feature a wide range of topics and promote vibrant scientific exchange. Particular emphasis will be placed on three key priorities of the Japanese Society for Immunology: strengthening collaboration with clinical societies, fostering the next generation of researchers, and promoting internationalization. The program will include joint symposia with the Japanese Society of Allergology and the Japan College of Rheumatology, sessions highlighting young investigator awardees and early-career researchers, and international symposia organized together with immunology societies from France, Germany, Australia, and Korea.
