About this Academic Event

We would like to extend a warm welcome and invite you to the NK & ILC Symposium 2026, which will take place at the Historical Buildings of the University Freiburg, Germany, on March 11-13, 2026.

The NK & ILC Symposium is traditionally initiated by the Study Group „NK & ILCs“ of the German Society for Immunology (DGfI). For the first time, this meeting will be co-hosted by experts for gd T cells.

This symposium will bring together experts in innate lymphocyte biology, and cover the latest emerging concepts in the field, the application of cutting-edge high-resolution technologies, and their clinical translation. The meeting will host researchers, industrials, and clinicians with a common interest in NK cells, ILCs, and gamma delta T cells. It will discuss how the current understanding of the development and biology of these immune cell populations might enable development of next-generation therapies in cancer and chronic infections.

The 3-day conference will host renowned international keynote and plenary speakers from all over the world. This international blend will serve as an incubator for new ideas and exchanges. It will also exhibit cutting-edge research on a wide range of topics and promote the next generation of researchers in oral presentations and poster sessions. The sessions will cover new discoveries from basic science to direct translational applications in patients.

Freiburg is located at the picturesque foothills of the Black Forest. It is Germany’s southernmost city with a population exceeding 230,000. It lies in the Breisgau, one of Germany’s warmest regions, in the south of the Upper Rhine Plain, nearby to the Switzerland and French border.

The Albert-Ludwigs-Universität of Freiburg, founded in 1457, is one of Germany’s oldest universities, with currently 15,000 students in its eleven faculties. The conference site is easily accessible from the international airport Freiburg – Basel – Mulhouse by bus and by train.

We look forward to your participation and welcoming you to the beautiful city of Freiburg!
