It is a great pleasure and honor to invite all of you to the 38th FIMS (International Federation of Sports Medicine) World Congress of sports medicine which will be held from 24 till 27, October 2024 in the crown of the Middle East, the beautiful city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dubai is a city of skyscrapers and beaches where big business takes place alongside sun seeking tourism and now Dubai will be the host of our premier event, the World Congress of sports medicine. This partnership between the International Federation of sport medicine and United Arab Emirates National Olympic Sports Medicine Committee aims to ensure the development of sports and exercise medicine sector globally but also in the Middle East.
As you are aware the responsibilities of sports and exercise medicine are ever increasing in recreational and competitive sports. As more and more premier sporting events are planned and take place in the Middle East and are streamed of world class athletes in their support staff move to this region. It is essential therefore that sport medicine also keeps up with this development and is able to meet the expectations and the responsibilities that must accompany this shift and deliver wider impact given the power sport to effective positive change for all citizens. consequently, in the promotion of world class educational initiatives in this region such as the FIMS World Congress of sports medicine are essential and an occasion to share medical and scientific experiences at national and international level.
Delegates from the 120 FIMS member National Association sports physician from all around the world. Students and many invited speakers will get together in Dubai to exchange updated the respective results in research new advances in technologies academic news to debate on and the wish to renew a common vision represented by the health maintenance enhancements, prevention and therapy of different disease through the practice of physical activity exercise and sports and return to play after injury.
Therefore, on behalf of the international federations for sport medicine I would like to thank the United Arab Emirates authorities for supporting the Congress and for hosting the international sports medicine community. A special thanks to the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Sports Medicine Committee for being one of the most active member National Association in recent years focusing on promoting excellence both in scientific and educational initiatives and helping the FIMS strengthen its leading position in sport and exercise medicine worldwide.
With this spirit and in the name of the International Federation of sport medicine, I invite you all to Dubai and guarantee that all your expectation will be fully realized. The Co-president of the Congress and chairman of the local organizing committee Dr. Hashel Al Tunaiji and his team have put together an amazing scientific program including social program that promises to be the best FIMS World Congress yet.
