The 15th International Congress on Cleft Lip/Palate and Related Craniofacial Anomalies (CLEFT2025) will be held at Kyoto International Conference Hall (Kyoto, Japan) from October 20 to 24, 2025. The theme of the conference is "Best time in Kyoto to create cleft history!” Cleft palate treatment requires the collaboration of medical professionals and researchers from various fields. The conference is attended by medical professionals and researchers from more than 120 countries around the world, and each meeting generates lively discussions and international exchanges. To "deepen multidisciplinary and international collaboration," our goal is to "make history in cleft palate treatment" in Kyoto, Japan.
It is with great pleasure and honor that I warmly invite you to join us at the 17th World Congress of the International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation on September 4 – 6, 2025, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Frankfurt is a bustling metropolis in the heart of Europe, known throughout the world for its exciting and unusual contrasts of modernity and tradition. Frankfurt is an international travel hub making it easily accessible from all across the globe and has been a center of trade and commerce, and communication for more than 800 years. Located in the wonderful landscape of the RhineMain area, it is here that German Emperors were crowned, the telephone was invented and the first train route in Germany originated. 5 Nobel prize winners in medicine and physiology, affiliated with the Goethe-University Frankfurt, are participating the Congress.
You can also see this innovative thinking in the field of cleft lip and palate. In the 19th century, Gustav Passavant was one of the first surgeons in Germany to specialize in cleft lip and palate surgery. In 1869 he stated first that the treatment of cleft palate cannot be based on surgery alone, but also needed functional treatment concepts.
Our meeting venue will be the education campus of the University Medicine Frankfurt/Goethe-University Frankfurt, named in honor of one of the most famous sons of our city, the German poet Johann Wolfgang Goethe. The campus is located directly along the river of Main and is only a 10-minute tram ride from the inner city with many historical buildings, parks and restaurants.
Frankfurt is an ideal place to meet friends and colleagues and to share new information and ideas on cleft lip and palate therapy, and to simply enjoy being together. Wherever and whenever people come here together, ideas are created, improved upon, and implemented.
We expect high attendance because of the unique location, excellent international access, and especially because of the great historic and clinical importance of the Frankfurt Interdisciplinary Treatment Center for Cleft Lip and Palate and Rare Orofacial Diseases, which is one of the largest in Europe. The Interdisciplinary German Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association has rescheduled its annual meeting to coincide with our congress CLEFT2025.
So, join us as an exhibitor, workshop provider or a sponsor and help us to welcome our guests from all over the world – to support the treatment of children with cleft lip and palate worldwide.
I look forward to personally welcoming you to Frankfurt in September 2025.
The Newcastle Northern and Yorkshire Cleft Lip and Palate Service and I are delighted to invite you to the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Craniofacial Society of Great Britain and Ireland, 30th April – 2nd May 2025.
It is the 40th birthday of our Society and what better place to host it than the party city that is Newcastle!
Celebration, Ambition, Reflection, Excellence
Celebrating together our knowledge and reflecting on results we can hope to learn and excite further ambition in our units to drive UK Cleft Care and our society into another excellent decade.
Our key note speakers have been chosen to appeal to all disciplines of cleft healthcare and, I know, demand your attention to look at the clinical experience in a new way.
We have really expanded the inclusion of those with a lived experience of cleft amongst both our scientific and social programme, remembering who is at the centre of our work.
Newcastle is big on party and consequently arts and sports venues abound in the Toon! Our stunning Northumberland coast line is a well-kept secret, so why not stay a while after our celebrations!
Due to the COVID-19 epidemic and continuing geopolitical risks, and for the safety of our members, The 11th Conference of Asian International Association of Dental Traumatology will once again be held in Tsukuba, Japan.
The purpose of AADT is to advance and develop the treatment of oral trauma and to improve the knowledge of its members through the promotion of medical practice and research. In recent years, academic activities have been stagnant due to COVID-19, and although COVID-19 infection has gradually disappeared, I feel that there is still a great deal of mental burden as a healthcare professional with regard to the risk of infection. However, we are holding this conference in the hope of providing as much information as possible on trauma dentistry.
Since the conference president is a Dual Degree Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who is board certified as both a medical doctor and a dentist, the theme of this year's conference focused on the biological side reactions that accompany traumatic injuries.
I hope that this conference will provide participants with an opportunity to consider trauma dentistry from a new perspective, and I would like to extend my greetings from the president of this conference.

KLEF2024 is the outcome of a proposal made to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) in September 2023. It is a milestone in the history of orofacial clefts in Malaysia as it is the inaugural conference bringing together healthcare providers, the industry and peer support group. It is indeed timely such a gathering be convened in Malaysia. The theme “Unity in Cleft Care” was carefully chosen to advocate the importance of a cohesive multidisciplinary approach in cleft care.
With the support of KKM, CLAPAM (Cleft Lip and Palate Association of Malaysia), MAOMS (Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons) and MSPRS (Malaysian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery) have joined forces as Co-Organizers and Co-Chairs of KLEF2024. This in itself is another first, where the concept of multidisciplinary approach is put into practice. You can thus expect a broad range of medical, dental and allied health science participants, from specialists to young doctors, nurses and allied health practitioners at this upcoming conference. This is a unique gathering, gelling together “the Malaysian Cleft Fraternity”.
We are honoured YB Minister of Health, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly bin Ahmad has consented to officiate the opening ceremony of this auspicious event.
If you are involved in cleft care, either as healthcare provider, service provider or product provider . . . this conference is designed for you. We invite you to join us at KLEF2024, and be part of a historical milestone in the journey of clefts in Malaysia.
We look forward to seeing and welcoming you.Adr
KLEF2024 BACKGROUND
KLEF2024 Background
Orofacial cleft (or “cleft” in its general form) is a global birth condition impacting 1 in 700 live births. Babies with clefts will continue to be born as there are currently neither definitive causal factor nor preventive measures. However, cleft has one distinct uniqueness in that babies born with a cleft condition can be returned to normalcy through a well-established cleft protocol.
It is estimated that annually, 800 - 1000 babies are born with a cleft condition in Malaysia. We are fortunate such cleft babies are being managed by specialized disciplines within medical, dental, and allied health science at various hospitals throughout the country.
To date, Malaysia however, has not convened a multidisciplinary conference to bring together the healthcare providers, the industry and peer support organisation to further enhance services extended to cleft borns. Convening one will help raise awareness, strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration and in doing so, reduce the burden of care on cleft borns, their families and healthcare providers.
It is on the above premise that KLEF2024 was conceived.
We deem it a great pleasure an opportunity to host the prestigious 11th Karnataka State AOMSI conference with the theme “Generation Z”.
