Dear Societies Members of the IOFOS, Dear Delegates, Dear Colleagues, and Dear Friends
I am honored to invite you to the Triennial Meeting of the International Organization for Forensic Odonto-Stomatology (IOFOS 2026), held in Lisboa, Portugal, from September 9-11, 2026.
The IOFOS 2026 Triennial Meeting theme is “Digital Workflow and Artificial Intelligence in Forensic Odontology: A Path to the Future“. This is an excellent theme for the next IOFOS 2026 Triennial Meeting since today’s obstacles represent tomorrow’s opportunities. The meeting aims to embrace this theme by highlighting conferences emphasizing the dual nature of Digital Workflow and Artificial Intelligence in forensic odontology. We will explore how Digital Workflow and Artificial Intelligence transform Forensic Odontology practices while addressing potential ethical concerns and challenges. Thus, the scientific program will reflect this theme, allowing you to cover a broad spectrum of relevant subjects from the latest advances in forensic odontology.
One of my main goals as IOFOS President is to promote excellence in forensic odontology practice, education, and research. This meeting aims to strengthen the integration between Forensic Odontology and other forensic sciences. I am committed to fostering membership engagement and involving the young generation.
The IOFOS 2026 meeting will have a program incorporating one day of workshops and two days of conferences, oral communications, and posters. The three days of the scientific program will be complete with a social program.
With this meeting in Lisboa, we are visiting one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, rich in culture and history. I hope you will take the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Lisboa and Portugal.
I encourage you to actively participate in the workshop, oral communications, and poster program and fully engage in the networking opportunities offered by the IOFOS 2026 meeting and the beautiful city of Lisboa.
I welcome all Forensic Odontology practitioners and all other Forensic Sciences practitioners, as well as researchers, academics, and students from scientific institutions and universities around the world, and promise that you will increase your knowledge in forensic odontology, as well as the evidence-based practices, to make more informed decisions.
I look forward to welcoming you to Lisboa sharing with you the enormous enthusiasm with which we are hosting this event, and wishing to see you all very soon in Lisboa.
This seminar will present a potpourri of interesting case studies in oral and maxillofacial pathology and radiology covering a variety of conditions encountered in general and specialty dental practices. The presenters will utilize an interactive audience participation platform (such as Poll Everywhere) which will enable participants to anonymously respond and interact with the presenters throughout the presentations. In addition, the lecture will be customized by the audience responses and questions to better facilitate learning.
Emphasis will be placed on lesions and conditions commonly seen in dental practice, especially those difficult to diagnose and/or manage, newly diagnosed conditions, and premalignant or malignant lesions. The topics will cover a wide range of topics spanning human papilloma virus including oro-pharyngeal HPV driven cancers to various benign lesions of the oral mucosa. Various types of malignancies, clinical features of early cancers, newer challenging entities including proliferative verrucous carcinoma and other high-risk lesions will be emphasized. Non-squamous malignancies such as lymphomas and plasma cell neoplasms (a group of increasingly common lesions), salivary gland tumors, sarcomas etc will also be presented in a case series format. Soft tissue and bone pathology including both commonly encountered radiographic lesions to rarer or life-threatening conditions, will be presented. We will highlight the incredibly diverse nature of oral ulcerations and discuss the etiology, diagnosis and treatment for these lesions. Important challenging oral conditions especially osteochemonecrosis related to newer anti-resorptive/anti-angiogenic medications will be discussed. The impact of these and other drugs on implant success will also be discussed as will the new increase in cases of foreign cosmetic materials implanted in oral tissues.
Highlights of the Conference
